Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Slotwise, a conversational scheduling assistant operated from Barcelona, Spain ("we", "us", "our"). By using Slotwise, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Description of the Service

Slotwise is a WhatsApp-based assistant that helps you manage your Google Calendar through natural language messages. The service allows you to:

• Check your upcoming events and availability
• Create, modify, and delete calendar events via conversational requests
• Send calendar invitations to other participants
• Receive daily or weekly schedule reminders
• Store contacts for faster scheduling in the future

Slotwise uses artificial intelligence to interpret your messages and translate them into calendar actions. The service operates as an assistant — it proposes actions and asks for your confirmation before making changes to your calendar.

2. User Eligibility

• You must be at least 16 years old to use Slotwise
• You must have a valid WhatsApp account and a Google account with Google Calendar enabled
• You must have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms in your jurisdiction

3. Accounts & Authentication

Google Account Connection

To use Slotwise, you authorize access to your Google Calendar via Google's OAuth 2.0 protocol. This grants Slotwise permission to read your calendar events and create, modify, or delete events on your behalf. You may revoke this access at any time through your Google Account settings or by messaging "disconnect" to the Slotwise bot.

WhatsApp Interactions

Your WhatsApp number serves as your account identifier. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your WhatsApp account. Any messages sent from your WhatsApp number to Slotwise will be treated as authorized by you.

Account Security

You are responsible for all activity that occurs through your connected accounts. If you believe your account has been compromised, disconnect immediately and contact us.

4. Authorized Use

You agree to use Slotwise only for its intended purpose: personal and professional scheduling assistance. You may not:

• Use the service for unlawful purposes or to facilitate illegal activities
• Send abusive, threatening, or harassing messages to the bot
• Attempt to overload, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the service
• Use the service to send spam or unsolicited invitations to third parties
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
• Use automated tools or scripts to interact with the service (beyond normal WhatsApp usage)
• Attempt to access other users' data or accounts
• Use the service to extract data for purposes unrelated to your own scheduling

5. AI Limitations & User Responsibility

This is an important section. Please read it carefully.

Slotwise uses artificial intelligence to interpret your natural language messages. While we strive for accuracy, AI-based interpretation has inherent limitations:

• Misinterpretation is possible. The AI may misunderstand ambiguous requests, dates, times, participant names, or your intended action. For example, "next Friday" may be interpreted differently than you intended.
• You are responsible for reviewing proposed actions. Slotwise asks for confirmation before creating or modifying events. It is your responsibility to verify that the proposed details (date, time, participants, title) are correct before confirming.
• Calendar conflicts may occur. While the service checks availability, scheduling errors, overlapping events, or incorrect time zone handling may occasionally occur.
• Invitations are sent on your behalf. When you confirm an event with attendees, Google Calendar sends email invitations to those participants using your Google account. You are responsible for ensuring you intend to invite those people.
• The service is assistive, not autonomous. Slotwise does not make decisions for you. It interprets your requests and proposes actions for your approval.

We recommend reviewing your Google Calendar after confirming actions to ensure everything appears as expected.

6. Third-Party Services

Slotwise depends on third-party services to function. These include:

• Google Calendar API — for reading and writing calendar data
• WhatsApp Cloud API (Meta) — for receiving and sending messages
• Anthropic Claude — for natural language interpretation
• Supabase — for data storage

We do not control these services. Outages, changes, or disruptions to any third-party service may affect Slotwise's availability or functionality. We are not liable for issues caused by third-party service failures.

Your use of Slotwise is also subject to:

• Google's Terms of Service
• WhatsApp's Terms of Service

7. Google Calendar Integration

Regarding your Google Calendar data:

• Access is granted exclusively through Google's OAuth 2.0 authorization flow
• Slotwise only performs actions within the scopes you have authorized (reading events, creating/modifying/deleting events)
• Calendar data is accessed in real time to fulfill your requests and is not bulk-stored or indexed
• You may revoke access at any time, which immediately disables all calendar functionality
• We do not use your Google Calendar data for advertising, profiling, or purposes unrelated to providing the scheduling service

Slotwise's use of Google user data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

8. Pricing & Payments

Slotwise offers a free tier (up to 10 bookings per month) and a paid Pro plan at €5.99/month. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. By subscribing you agree to recurring monthly billing until you cancel. You may cancel at any time from WhatsApp or your Stripe customer portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

9. Availability & Service Changes

Slotwise is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or specific uptime levels. We may:

• Modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time
• Perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability
• Update the AI models or processing logic used by the service
• Introduce new features or retire existing ones

For significant changes that affect your usage, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you in advance.

10. Intellectual Property

The Slotwise service, including its software, design, and branding, is our intellectual property or used under license. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute any part of the service.

You retain ownership of your data (calendar events, messages, contacts). By using Slotwise, you grant us a limited license to process this data solely to provide the service.

11. Privacy

Your privacy matters to us. Our Privacy Policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. The Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law:

• Slotwise is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of fitness for a particular purpose or accuracy of AI interpretation
• We are not liable for scheduling errors, missed events, incorrect invitations, or other consequences of AI misinterpretation, provided we have acted in good faith and within reasonable technical standards
• We are not liable for damages caused by third-party service outages (Google, WhatsApp, or other providers)
• Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of Slotwise shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable EU or Spanish law.

13. Termination

By you: You may stop using Slotwise at any time by sending "disconnect" to the bot or revoking Google Calendar access. Your account will be deactivated and your Google refresh token revoked.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, abuse the service, or if continued operation poses a risk to other users or our infrastructure. Where possible, we will provide notice before termination.

Upon termination, your stored data (contacts, preferences) will be retained in a deactivated state. You may request full deletion by contacting us.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active users via WhatsApp. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you disagree with changes, you may disconnect your account.

15. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Slotwise shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Barcelona, Spain, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection provisions that may apply in your country of residence.
